The Reconciliation Project builds peace through education, engagement and empowerment and is founded on the belief that learning to become alive to one another is the foundation for building a more peaceful world.
Our Mission
It is the mission of The Reconciliation Project to provide resources and support to individuals, families, communities and organizations seeking to improve relationships, strengthen resiliency and build a more peaceful world. We foster a creative community of individuals that are passionate about peace and reconciliation, offer online and in-person training and workshops, and develop collaborative partnerships with organizations committed to advancing humanity.
Our work stems from philosopher C. Terry Warner’s exploration of “self-deception”—how we end up creating and sustaining problems we don’t know we’re causing, and how and why we resist helpful solutions. We believe that at the root of humanity is active acknowledgement and responsiveness to others.
What is reconciliation?
Reconciliation is defined in many ways. Here at The Reconciliation Project, we see reconciliation as a restoration of the recognition of humanity. Put simply, it means coming back to a place where people are seen as people instead of objects. When we see people as people, they count like we count. We recognize their humanity, as well as our own.
